A manhunt have been launched for armed robbers who shot a police officer useless on Friday.
Hawks spokesperson Simphiwe Mhlongo revealed that Durban Organised Crime Unit have been investigating the matter which led to the loss of life of the 38-year-old feminine sergeant .
He stated the law enforcement officials have been notified of the enterprise theft at a Boxer retailer which was ongoing shortly after midnight.
“We will affirm that Hawks members from Durban Severe Organised Crime Unit are investigating a case of homicide and armed theft which occurred at Nsuze, northern KZN, within the early hours of this morning.”
Mhlongo defined that armed gang stormed into the shop and allegedly held up safety guards at gunpoint.
“A secure was blown up with explosives and Nsuze police station members responded.”
“Upon their arrival, suspects shot on the police van, fatally wounding a 38-year-old feminine sergeant.”
It’s understood that two sergeants from the Nsuze police station responded to the theft alert previous midnight and have been observing the outer perimeter of the scene of their police car once they got here underneath heavy gunfire.
Mhlongo stated no suspect have been arrested but.
