Runaway man accused of ex-girlfriend murder arrested

Tshwane police have arrested a suspect accused of murdering a 23-year-old lady in Temba.

It was reported that the person allegedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend brutally with a knife in a jealous rage earlier this week.

The 30-year-old fled from the scene and went into hiding.

Following an investigation, he was caught and arrested on Friday in Leboneng.

The police’s Kay Makhubele: “The provincial commissioner of the police in Gauteng recommended the work of the detectives who labored tirelessly till they discovered the suspect who was in hiding after the homicide.”

In one other information, a person shot a social employee in KZN whom he accused of “dishonest” and subsequently shot himself.

In line with the provincial social growth division in a press release on Saturday, 37-year-old  Hlengiwe Makhathini was shot a number of occasions on Friday by a gunman who she was allegedly conversant in.

“The attacker gained entry into her room, which was unlocked on the time.”

“The attacker allegedly accused Ms Makhathini of dishonest on him earlier than pulling out a firearm and fired a number of pictures on the deceased.”

After the incident, the gunman killed himself.

Makhathini was attacked within the Mandlanzini space, close to Empangeni.
