Runaway thief rearrested after fleeing from police custody

An alleged thief who escaped from police custody has been rearrested.

The 32-year-old man from KZN disappeared from the Verulam police station on Thursday.

The police confirmed that he has been charged with escaping from lawful custody.

In accordance with safety firm Response Unit SA (Rusa), the alleged thief was arrested for theft in Oaklands.

The alleged thief who escaped from custody was later present in a bushy space on Fairview Drive, close to Umhlanga.

Rusa in a press release right this moment mentioned “the person was arrested yesterday by response officers in Oaklands after he broke right into a car on Amaan Circle.”
