Runtown receives US stimulus cheque despite being banned for two years

Nigerian singer, song writer and producer, Douglas Jack Agu, popularly known by his stage name, Runtown has revealed that he received the US stimulus cheque despite being banned from the country for two years.

SIMPLE TUNE reported that Cheques going out to U.S. taxpayers as part of a stimulus programme, to help workers suffering as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, will have President Donald Trump’s name on them.

The President during a briefing at the Rose Garden, outside the White House, said he was sure that people would be very happy to get a big, fat, beautiful cheque with his name on it.

Confirming this, the singer in a tweet, via his Twitter account on Thursday, said he received his, though it came as a surprise because he was banned from entering the country.

”Got Stimulus Payment from the US lol ,will share with my friends here.

”Plot Twist. Been banned from the US for 2 years now,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Wednesday confirmed 34 new cases of Coronavirus across the country

“As at 11:20 pm 15th April there are 407 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. 128 have been discharged with 12 deaths,” it said.
